Adam says - Various artists have recently come under heavy pressure from activists to boycott Israel because of its treatment of the Palestinians. Pixies was due to headline the second night of the Pic.Nic festival on June 9, but have now cancelled their performance. Gorillaz and Klaxons have also withdrawn, and even Elvis Costello recently canceled a planned concert to protest Israeli policies!

Prentice says - Oh, sweet shower music. How you lift me out of the morning fog every day. Today, I needed you more than ever, and you came to my rescue in the form of a wonderful, overlooked song titled "The Step and The Walk" from a band called The Duke Spirit. You probably haven't looked this band up yet. If you have, you probably stumbled upon them when you went to watch an Incubus show a few years back. The Duke Spirit opened for Incubus, and since have become larger due to that exposure. Their album "Neptune" was in my ears all morning, and I felt the need to share this most wonderful tune with you called "The Step and The Walk". Remember it, and listen now!

Adam says - Rage Against The Machine have hinted that they may record a new album following their free gig in London's Finsbury Park. The band played the show as a thank you to fans after beating The X Factor contestant Joe McElderry to the top spot last December. They have now told NME they may use the momentum to get back in the studio to make their first new album since 2000's 'Renegades'. The band is set to play the O2 venue in Dublin tomorrow (June 8) before headlining the Downloadfestival on Saturday.

Prentice says - Ohh, the infamous morning shower. Something that is needed, for me, daily. As often as I partake of the beloved cleansing, I listen to, what I feel, is phenomenal music. This morning was no exception. There is only one of two things that pop into your head when I say the name "The Black Keys." Number one is "Who the hell are The Black Keys." Number two is "The Black Keys are nothing short of amazing." I stand under option number two. Their new album Brothers has not left my speakers since its release weeks ago, and rather than stick with the mainstream tracks on the album, let's go the road less traveled here. I only say this, in this case, because every single track on Brothers grabs me by the big ears and forces musical goodness in them. "Howlin' for You" is my Shower Track du Jour, and I'm going to go ahead and say it should be yours as well. Just put the damn song in your ears. I am supposed to throw a random fact in here about The Black Keys. Did you know they got their name from a friend who was schizophrenic and called "bad people" The Black Keys? You've been served. Listen to the damn song ;)

Andrew says - Noise rock. Sound complicated huh? That's cause it is. For most people it is either hit or miss. You either love it or hate it. No real in between. Luckily for Brooklyn duo, Sleigh Bells, the majority seems to love it. Based in Brooklyn, New York, the duo is composed of Derek E. Miller and Alexis Krauss. The duo met and formed in 2008, when Miller was waiting tables on Alexis and her mother in a diner. Miller mentioned he was looking for a female vocalist to work with on a musical project, for which Alexis' mother immediately volunteered her. It's been a crazy year so far for the duo who performed at the CMJ Music Marathon, signed to M.I.A.'s N.E.E.T. Recordings, and Pitchfork named their song "Crown on the Ground" the 57th best track of 2009. They performed at the 2010 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2010, and will play the Pitchfork Music Festival. Their new record Treats is in stores now. And thats todays Band Spotlight.

Prentice says - Oh my goddess, it's Friday and I needed a good start to this day more than ever and I got it this morning in the shower (not what you are thinking, gutter minds). I have a pretty vast shower playlist and this morning at random popped up wonderful music by favorite reggae band, Groundation. One could assume an "all white" reggae band from Sonoma, CA wouldn't be well received in the roots reggae community, but that's not the case at all. Groundation gets so much respect for their music. In fact, frontman Harrison Stafford created a documentary entitled, "Holding on to Jah" about the upcoming rise of reggae in the Caribbean and the mystic behind the music we've grown to love and not really "know." A highly recommended band, with a big reputation, gave us this morning, "What Could've Been" and a great start to the weekend! Enjoy ;)

Andrew says - A fully animated band can only suffice for so long. At least that's what most people thought before 1998 came around. Twelve years later and the Gorillaz are still going strong, in one shape or form. The co-creator, Damon Albarn has said that it is too expensive and too hard to haul around the equipment needed to pull off the live animations the band has done in the past. And with a new album out now, Plastic Beach, the band has a lot of the live shows lined up. So what did Albarn and company do? Just equipped the band with a star studded band to fill the spots of the missing, 2-D, Noodle, Murdoc, and Russel. Including Clash bassist Paul Simonon and guitarist Mick Jones, who have not played together in almost 30 years. Regardless of real members or animated members, the show is definitely worth seeing. See them on tour now and make sure you catch their new single, Rhinestone Eyes, on X1FM right now. And that is todays Band Spotlight.

Prentice says - Ahh, another wonderful day in the life of my morning shower, and yet another wonderful track to cleanse myself to. Today is a little "out of format" but the reality of it is, and you might want to sit down for this, I don't always listen to Alternative Rock music!! Actually, today's track is considered "Alternative Hip Hop" and rightfully so. "Day and Nite" is my favorite track from Kid Cudi's first album "Man on the Moon". "Man on the Moon" is a phenomenal album including collaborations from the likes of MGMT, Lady Gaga, etc, and my shower song of the day "Day and Nite" is the first single from the album. The track topped out at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and the video, which includes a brief cameo with Travis Barker, won numerous awards as well. Looking forward to you seeing and hearing this one friends ;)
